The news broke just last week that Oscar-winning Dune director Denis Villeneuve had been tapped to helm the next James Bond movie, but another movie from the visionary filmmaker was just crowned with an important title. The New York Times recently released a comprehensive list of the best films from the 21st century, and landing at #29 is Arrival, the 2016 sci-fi epic from Villeneuve. Arrival, which stars Amy Adams and Jeremy Renner, follows Louise Banks (Adams), a linguist who leads a team of investigators to communicate with an alien ship that randomly touched down. Arrival earned scores of 94% from critics and 82% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, and it grossed $212 million at the box office against a $47 million budget.
