Indian pacer, Mohammed Shami’s estranged ex-wife, Hasin Jahan’s lawyer, on July 2, 2025, made the confirmation that the cricketer will be paying maintenance of Rs. 4 lakh to Jahan and his daughter. The lawyer, Imtiaz Ahmed, added that Jahan had been fighting for her rights since 2018. Now, a video went viral where Hasin Jahan was seen expressing her dissatisfaction over receiving Rs. 4 lakh as alimony, and netizens were not happy with the same. Justice, Ajoy Kumar Mukherjee at the Calcutta High Court gave the direction to the Indian cricketer to pay.

A video of Mohammed Shami’s ex-wife, Hasin Jahan, has surfaced on social media where she shared that seeing the status of Shami, his earnings, and lifestyle, they had demanded Rs. 10 lakh. For the unversed, in 2023, Jahan had gone to the High Court against an order passed by the district sessions court. She wanted Shami to give her Rs. 50,000 and Rs. 80,000 to the daughter and sought Rs. 7 lakh compensation for herself and Rs. 3 lakh for the daughter. Now, Hasin Jahan, in a clip that went viral, said:
“Shami Ahmed ka joh status hai, joh earning hai, lifestyle lead karta hai, uss hisab se yeh 4 lakh kum hai aur humne 10 lakh ka demand kia tha woh bhi 7 saal 4 mahine Pehle. Abh uss hisab se mehengayi badh gayi hai. Lekin phir bhi mujhe lagta hai Shami Ahmed ke status ke hisab se hamei aur zyada maintenance milni chahiye jaise ki hum hamari beti ki zindagi bahut ache se maintain kar sake.”
