Who doesn’t love a bit of psychological horror? Plain slashers and ghost stories seem underwhelming compared to what a great, psychologically tough-to-handle horror movie can actually do; it doesn’t have to be filled with blood or jumpscares to set up a scene or a point. This isn’t to say slashers and ghost stories aren’t terrifying or capable of being mentally difficulta lot of them are exactly those things, which is why they’re in the horror genre.
