Sikandar Movie Review:

Salman Khan’s latest action flick, Sikandar, feels painfully outdated and uninspired. The superstar seems to be sleepwalking through the film, delivering a performance so monotonous, lethargic and lifeless that it’s almost painful to watch.

Emotion? Nowhere to be found. Energy? Completely missing. It’s clear that the role demands more than what he’s willing (or able) to give at this stage in his career. Maybe it’s time for him to consider age-appropriate roles because even the action sequences – usually his saving grace – feel sluggish and lazy. And let’s not even get started on his dancing.

Director A.R. Murugadoss brings nothing new to the table here. It’s the same old slow-motion shots, exaggerated heroics, and over-the-top fight scenes we’ve seen a hundred times before. It all just feels like a rehash of better films, but without the excitement.

The story itself is little more than a bloated commercial for organ donation, wrapped in a half-baked vigilante drama. Rashmika Mandanna plays the love interest, but the script does her no favors. She tries to give it her best in the limited screen time she gets. She’s barely there before being unceremoniously killed off, making her role feel like a mere afterthought. If you’re a Rashmika fan, you’re better off catching Chhaava instead. Not to mention, her chemistry with Salman is incredibly awkward, thanks to their glaring age gap. The romance feels lacklustre and completely unconvincing.

As for the villains, Prateik Babbar and Sathyaraj are reduced to one-dimensional caricatures, wasted in roles that don’t do justice to their talent. The film’s soundtrack is just as forgettable as the rest of it, adding nothing to the experience.

At the end of the day, Sikandar banks solely on Salman Khan’s star power – but even that isn’t enough to save it. With a weak script, uninspired action, and a total lack of emotional depth, this one is best skipped. Save your time and money – go watch Chhaava instead.
