Hawkeyestands as one of the most successful of the MCU Disney+ series, a winner with critics (92% on Rotten Tomatoes) and fans alike. Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop was a fun addition to the MCU, Florence Pugh’s return as Yelena Belova was pitch-perfect, but most of all, it silenced critics of Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye as a lame-duck hero, much like how Aquaman gave Jason Momoa a project with which to reinvent the perpetually ridiculed character. It’s been four years since Hawkeye‘s release, but it sounds like there’s movement on a second season of the series. Or was, that is, until Disney made this mind-numbingly ludicrous decision that has all but scuttled the Archer Avenger’s return to Disney+.
