Thunderbolts* is among the MCU’s best efforts, a vibrant and surprisingly emotional big-scale adventure that echoes back to the franchise’s best days. The story follows a group of disenchanted and morally grey antiheroes working on covert missions for the U.S. government who suddenly become targets when their handler, Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), becomes the subject of an investigation and must get rid of all evidence. Forced to join forces, they soon find the companionship and support they need.
