Ibrahim Ali Khan recently revealed that he has battled a speech impediment since childhood, a condition stemming from a severe case of jaundice early in life.
In a candid interview, the 24-year-old shared that speaking has always been a challenge and that he continues to put in significant effort to improve it.

“Soon after I was born, I had very bad jaundice, and that went straight to my brainstem. I went on to lose quite a bit of my hearing, and that impacted my speech,” Ibrahim told GQ. Sharing that he has worked extensively over the years to improve his speech and continues to do so, he said, “My speech is something that I’ve had to work hard on since I was a child, with coaches and therapists. It’s not perfect; I’m still working hard on it.”
Despite facing speech difficulties, Ibrahim Ali Khan shared that his parents didn’t shy away from sending him to a boarding school in England. While adjusting to a new environment was initially tough, he credits the experience with shaping his personal growth. “It was challenging to fit in as an Indian student, but those four years turned out to be the best of my life. I played sports, made lifelong friends, and learned so much. My speech was at its worst back then, and being in an unfamiliar space pushed me to adapt and persevere,” he recalled.
Ibrahim is the eldest son of Saif Ali Khan. Saif was previously married to Amrita Singh from 1991 to 2004, and the couple had two children together — Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim. Following their separation, Saif tied the knot with Kareena Kapoor, with whom he shares two sons, Taimur Ali Khan and Jehangir Ali Khan.
