I Wanted To Do Something Different From My Family – Armaan Malik
“I wanted to do something different from my family. For Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, I submitted everything under the name Armaan, Armaan from Mumbai. No one should know anything. Later, the judges recognized me and realized I’m Daboo Malik’s son. But until then, I just wanted to pass every stage of the audition only because my singing is good. And I didn’t take advantage of any opportunities where people could say I got favors from someone or nepotism or anything like that.”
He wanted people to see him for his voice and not for who his uncle or father is. That takes courage and confidence.
In a time when there is so much talk about nepotism, Armaan’s story feels real and inspiring. He could have taken shortcuts, but he didn’t. He worked hard and let his talent speak for itself.
