Months ahead of its theatrical release, Wicked: For Good is already doing plenty of good for the theater industry. Variety reports that, after tallying the numbers, Universal is celebrating an incredible milestone, as the debut teaser for the second half of the musical film has racked up 113 million views within its first 24 hours. The calculation well eclipses the first full trailer for last year’s Wicked, which conjured 75 million views over a 24-hour time period. Comparing it to movies that went on to become box office juggernauts, the second installment of Jon M. Chu’s cinematic adaptation is on par with Greta Gerwig’s Barbie and is already soaring higher than the likes of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.
