For those unaware, Vat Purnima, or Vat Savitri Vrat, is a traditional Hindu ritual performed by married women, where they observe a fast and perform a pooja honouring the banyan tree by tying a sacred thread around it, in order to seek blessings for the well-being and longevity of their husbands.
