

When the news broke of the Air India flight 787-8 Dreamliner Boeing crashed into a medical college area on June 12, 2025, Raju Patel did not stop. A resident of Ahmedabad, the 56-year-old, ended up showing his honesty in chaos and rushed to the site for the on-ground rescue operations. He reached BJ Medical College in only 15 minutes. Now, Raju Patel showed his honesty by returning the retrieved costly valuables to the cops.

For the unversed, the flight was headed to London from Ahmedabad International Airport and was under the command of Late Captain Sumeet Sabharwal and Late Flight Officer Clive Kunder. Within 38 seconds, the flight crashed, killing 241 passengers on board and more than two dozen on the ground. Raju was the first one to remove the victims and also retrieved gold jewellery, cash worth Rs. 60,000, from the debris. Raju, in an interview with Aaj Tak, shared:
“We recovered Rs 60,000 in cash, foreign currency, laptops, mobile phones, ID cards, and gold, including necklaces, bangles, mangalsutras, rings, and silver items. By 9 pm, we had collected all the belongings of the passengers that we could find.”
