Vikrant Massey says that he left the religion column blank on his son’s birth certificate
Vikrant Massey and his wife, Sheetal Thakur, welcomed their baby boy, Vardaan, in February 2025. Discussing the multi-faith background of his family, Vikrant revealed in Rhea Chakraborty’s podcast, Chapter 2, that he left the religion column on his baby boy’s birth certificate blank. The actor further stated that the government doesn’t ask anyone to specify a religion on the birth certificate, so he put a dash in the particular section when they received Vardaan’s certificate. Vikrant then stated that he would be heartbroken if his son treated anyone differently based on the faith that the other person follows. The actor said in the interview:
“On the birth certificate of my baby boy, we left the space for religion blank. So when his birth certificate came from the government, there was no religion stated on it. Toh yeh nahi hai ki sarkaar aapko bolti hai likhna padega. It depends on you. The moment we got his birth certificate, I put a dash in the religion column. I will be so heartbroken if I realise my son is treating anyone on the basis of the practices they follow. I am not raising my son that way.”
