It’s not often that you find a film with an impeccable 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Such has been the appeal and success of AMC+’s modern Western series Dark Winds. Created by Graham Roland and based on Tony Hillerman’s Leaphorn & Chee novels, Dark Winds has been one of AMC+’s most successful original series since its debut in 2022. Set in the 1970s American Southwest, the show centers on Navajo police officers Joe Leaphorn (Zahn McClarnon) and Jim Chee (Kiowa Gordon) as they investigate crimes deeply entangled with Native traditions and personal trauma.
