When one says emo, it’s truly impossible (and almost criminal) not to mention My Chemical Romance. Formed in 2001, the American rock band served as a defining voice and an influential act in the emo genre. Dark, intense, and emotional storytelling has long been a hallmark of My Chemical Romance’s sound. That’s especially evident in their third studio album, The Black Parade, which — judging solely by the name alone — hints at some of the darkest songs the band has ever written.
