In a recent exclusive chat with Instant Bollywood, actress Banita Sandhu opened up about her experience working alongside Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh in the mystery-comedy Detective Sherdil.

Known for his chart-topping music, comic timing, and effortless charm, Diljit is one of the most beloved names in Indian entertainment. But according to Banita, behind all that stardom is someone refreshingly grounded and hardworking.
So, what was it like sharing the screen with Diljit? Banita didn’t hold back on the praise.
“He’s so humble. It’s crazy because he’s such a big star, but on set, he’s really there to serve the director’s vision. He’s not there with his own agenda or anything.”
In a world where ego clashes and screen-time battles are often part of the job, Banita shared how Diljit was the complete opposite. She said he was never the kind of actor asking “What about my shot? Do I look better?” Instead, he stayed focused and gave his all to the role.
“He’s super cooperative, totally focused on his craft. He’s there to do his job, keeps his head down, and works really, really hard.”

Banita Sandhu Praises Diljit Dosanjh’s Work Ethic
And his discipline doesn’t end once the cameras stop rolling. Banita recalled a moment that truly showed her how committed Diljit is to his work.
“What really stood out to me about him while we were filming was his work ethic,” she said.
The cast had been staying at the same hotel during the shoot, and Banita had a routine of hitting the gym around 10 in the morning. To her surprise, Diljit would always be there too.
“I’d see him there at 10 a.m., and I’d be like, ‘Oh, you’re here too,’ and he’d be like, ‘Yeah, this is my second session today.’ I was like, ‘What? Seriously?’” He goes, ‘No, I actually came around 5 or 6 in the morning. Did my session, had breakfast, and now I’m back again.’”
After working with the superstar, Banita’s takeaway is simple; talent is great, but being humble and hardworking is what makes someone truly unforgettable.
